Flow Cytometry is aninnovative,cell biology,laser-based technique to count, sort, and profile cells in a heterogeneous fluid mixture.
The Laboratory has FACSVIA -two-laser, six fluorescence parameters. The facility evaluates phenotypic sub classification of lymphocytes (T cell, B cell), recognize AML with minimal morphologic and cytochemical evidence of differentiation and distinguish acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) from acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
It also detects the residual levels of disease after treatment.

Histopathologists provide a diagnostic service for cancer; they handle the cells and tissues removed from suspicious ‘lumps and bumps’, identify the nature of the abnormality and, if malignant, provide information to the clinician about the type of cancer, its grade and, for some cancers, its responsiveness to certain treatments. It involves both macroscopic and microscopic study of the tissue. Thereafter, correlating the findings with the clinical and radiographic history. Thus, helping to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
Medical Microbiology is about testing different types of microorganisms including bacteriology, parasitology, mycology and virology. This helps in early detection of the infection and health problems caused by bacteria and fungus.
Our Microbiology section is fully equipped with all the facilities for direct microscopy, staining and culture of bacteria from all types of specimen, microscopy and culture of Fungus.
‘BD Phoenix M50’ is for automated identification bacteria at species level and automated antimicrobial sensitivity tests with MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration).
