Pathology is the keystone of correct diagnosis. Our experts ensure precision at every level and the scientific team nurtures all the clinical reports meticulously to provide meaningful prognostic & diagnostic information to aid effective treatment protocols.

BIOCHEMISTRY

Biochemistry section typically involves automated analysis of blood specimens for certain assay groups including enzyme activities in body fluids, HbA1c, hormones (thyroid panel, fertility hormones and so on)anemia, cancer markers and many more.

These systems use chromium based heterogenous immunoassays, direct chemiluminescent technology and electrophoresis (Hb and protein).

In our laboratory we have Dimension EXL 200 System, ADVIA Centaur XPT Immunoassay System, Minicap etc. that offer optimal productivity and efficiency with minimum error for all these comprehensive assays.

We also accomplish all other types of biochemical tests.

CLINICAL PATHOLOGY

Clinical pathology is a medical specialty that is concerned with the diagnosis of disease based on the laboratory analysis of bodily fluids, such as blood, urine, and tissue homogenates or extracts using the tools of chemistry, microbiology, hematology and molecular pathology. We support the diagnosis of disease using laboratory testing of blood and other body fluids, tissues and microscopic evaluation of individual cells.  These results are timely and accurate.

CYTOPATHOLOGY

Cytopathology is commonly used to investigate diseases involving a wide range of body sites, often to aid in the diagnosis of cancer, infectious diseases and other inflammatory conditions. We study the individual cells.

Sampled fluid/ tissue from a patient is smeared onto a slide and stained examined under the microscope by the anatomical pathologist. This information helps in determining whether a disease is present and what is the likely diagnosis.

ENDOCRINOLOGY

Hormones play an important role in our well-being. They affect body’s many different processes:

  • Growth and development
  • Metabolism
  • Sexual function
  • Reproduction
  • Mood

Hormonal imbalance leads to problems like diabetes, weight gain or loss, infertility, weak bones, and other problem.

We have facilities for testing all types of hormones by automated system. ‘ADVIA CENTAUR XPT’ immunoassay system and ‘IMMUNOMAT’ automated ELISA system provides accurate results hormones within the shortest possible time.

FLOW CYTOMETRY

Flow Cytometry is aninnovative, cell biology,laser-based technique to count, sort, and profile cells in a heterogeneous fluid mixture.

The Laboratory has FACSVIA -two-laser, six fluorescence parameters. The facility evaluates phenotypic sub classification of lymphocytes (T cell, B cell), recognize AML with minimal morphologic and cytochemical evidence of differentiation and distinguish acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) from acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

It also detects the residual levels of disease after treatment.

IMMUNOLOGY TEST

Immunologic and serologic methods are used as tools in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases and immune-mediated diseases.

In laboratory we have fully automated ‘ADVIA CENTAUR XPT’ immunoassay system, ‘Atellica NEPH 630’ Nephelometry and ‘IMMUNOMAT’ automated ELISA system for all immunological and serological tests.

It is done by experienced experts who deliver high level precision in a very short span.

MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS

Molecular lab provides tests like HLA-B27, JAK2 mutation, PML-RARA, BCR-ABL and many more.

It offers high-complexity specialty tests using QIAGEN’s real-time PCR cycler, the Rotor-Gene Q, which combines multiple optimized design and provides high quality PCR quantitation in minimal time.

It analyses DNA or RNA to detect and quantify genetic abnormalities useful in the diagnosing of haematological malignancy and treatment outcome.

The Lab also performs cancer panel tests, their detection and molecular characterization. We also perform in-depth diagnosis of colorectal carcinoma, lung cancer, breast cancer and other mutation panels with accuracy.

The labs offer a broad selection of tests to rapidly identify agents of infectious diseases like Hepatitis B virus, Hepatitis C virus, genotyping and many wide ranges of viruses and effective diagnosis of TB infection and Latent TB (LTBI) with immunologic techniques.

HEMATOLOGY

Hematological tests can evaluate numerous conditions involving blood and its components. It includes the treatment of blood disorders and malignancies, including types of haemophilia, leukaemia, lymphoma and sickle-cell anemia. They can also be used to diagnose inflammation, infection, blood-clotting disorders and response to chemotherapy, among many other things.

COAGULATION

Coagulation tests measure the blood’s ability to clot. This helps the doctor to assess the risk of excessive bleeding or developing clots somewhere in blood vessels.

Conditions that can cause coagulation problems include: liver disease, thrombophilia and haemophilia.

Coagulation tests are also sometimes recommended before surgery.

Our laboratory has fully automated machine ‘Stago, STA Compact Max3’ for testing coagulation profile like PT, APTT, Coagulation factors, etc. which provides accurate and prompt results.

HISTOPATHOLOGY

Histopathologists provide a diagnostic service for cancer; they handle the cells and tissues removed from suspicious ‘lumps and bumps’, identify the nature of the abnormality and, if malignant, provide information to the clinician about the type of cancer, its grade and, for some cancers, its responsiveness to certain treatments. It involves both macroscopic and microscopic study of the tissue. Thereafter, correlating the findings with the clinical and radiographic history. Thus, helping to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.

MICROBIOLOGY
(BACTERIOLOGY & MYCOLOGY)

Medical Microbiology is about testing different types of microorganisms including bacteriology, parasitology, mycology and virology. This helps in early detection of the infection and health problems caused by bacteria and fungus.

Our Microbiology section is fully equipped with all the facilities for direct microscopy, staining and culture of bacteria from all types of specimen, microscopy and culture of Fungus.

‘BD Phoenix M50’ is for automated identification bacteria at species level and automated antimicrobial sensitivity tests with MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration).

SEROLOGY

These blood tests look for antibodies in the blood. Different types of serologic tests are used to diagnose various disease conditions. They all focus on proteins made by the immune system.

We offer serology testing that can diagnose multiple illnesses, including:

  • Brucellosis
  • Amebiasis
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • HIV
  • Syphilis
  • Fungal infections

THERAPEUTIC DRUG MONITORING (TDM)

TDM refers to the clinical practice of measuring drugs and metabolites in blood or serum/plasma at a specific time point.

It helps to determine whether the patient’s drug concentrations are within the therapeutic range orarethey toxic.
